An integral part of the course will be a practical risk assessment of hazardous materials, which will be carried out by participants and assessed by the tutor.

This course is suitable for staff in a company who may be responsible for hazard identification and risk assessment of chemicals and also those involved in chemical handling, storage and disposal.

Participants achieve the following learning outcomes from the programme;

Gather and evaluate critical information about chemicals and their properties
Identify hazards associated with the use of chemicals
Identify and analyse the risks associated with the use of chemicals
Have a basic understanding of health and safety legislation relating to the use of chemicals
